Liverpool may go French to boost their defence after missing out on Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones.
The Mirror says Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish will turn his attention to new targets after Jones opted to join Manchester United instead of the Anfield outfit.
Birmingham's Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho of Paris St Germain are now on the Reds' hit-list as Dalglish looks to strengthen his defensive options.
Dalglish is also weighing up moves for Blackpool's Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing of Aston Villa and Newcastle's Jose Enrique as he seeks to build a squad capable of pushing for the title next season.
