Liverpool striker Danny Sturridge was delighted with victory at Aston Villa.
For the second successive week, a solitary strike from Sturridge was another to hand the Reds all three points in a Premier League contest.
Sturridge told Sky Sports: "I think we deserved it. They played some good football in the second half and they put us under a lot of pressure, but we were resilient and worked very hard as a team. That's the manager's philosophy, to be a team, and we worked very hard together.
"It was good to score. That's what I enjoy to do, and I enjoy helping the team win games. It's just important to win, it doesn't matter if I score or not. I work every day very hard with the team and we try to win as a team. If we lose, we lose as a team, and that's what it is all about."
