Liverpool management are delighted with the progress of defender Mike Kelly.

Kelly is currently on-loan at Huddersfield and Reds reserves coach Gary Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv: "I went to watch Martin play for England Under-19s last week and in my opinion he was one of the best players on the pitch.

"He looked calm and assured and passed the ball out of defence really well. My phone never stopped on the way home with a lot of clubs wanting to see if they could get him on loan.

"I spoke the following day with the boss and we decided it was a good time for him to go on loan. Huddersfield are a good team with a young manager in Lee Clark and Terry McDermott is his assistant, so Martin is in good hands and will be well looked after.

"Martin is a good player. Rafa has already included him in his Champions League squad this season."
