Liverpool academy boss John Owens is delighted with the progress of former Millwall winger David Amoo.

Amoo featured in Liverpool's Senior Cup victory over Southport last week and Owens told liverpoolfc.tv: "It was great to see David Amoo appear as a second-half substitute.

"I thought he did well and showed what promise he has. Hopefully by making a good impression with the reserve team staff he can convince them that he is ready for that move."
