Steven Taylor's contract situation at Newcastle United remains at a stand-still.
The Evening Chronicle says his present deal - signed before he became a first-team regular - runs out in the summer of 2009. He has been offered a double-your-money deal that would still have left him among the club's lowest earners.
A number of other club's, including three of the so-called big four of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, are monitoring his situation, but Taylor does not want to leave United.
