Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring Mauro Zarate's situation at Lazio.

Leggo says Zarate is ready to leave Lazio at the end of the season after a frustrating period working with coach Edy Reja.

Liverpool and City are eyeing the exciting Argentine, who has previous Premiership experience with Birmingham City.

Zarate's brother and agent, Sergio, said: "If we are in the way of Lazio then we will leave."
