Middlesbrough attacker Gaston Ramirez is a surprise target for Liverpool.

TMW says Liverpool have made contact with the Uruguay international's camp.

Contact has already been made, with Liverpool keen to set up an end of season transfer.

The midfielder was a target for Leicester City, but Boro refused to allow Ramirez to leave last month.

Ramirez only moved to Boro last summer from Southampton.
