Liverpool have made a £5 million offer to Juventus for fullback Giorgio Chiellini.
Tuttosport says the Reds tabled the bid over the weekend, but it falls short of Juve's asking price.
Juve are prepared to sell Italy U21 captain Chiellini to Liverpool if they raise their offer to £7 million.
