Liverpool have tabled a massive bid for Borussia Monchengladbach ace Mahmoud Dahoud.

The Sun says the Anfield heavyweights made a £25 million move for the playmaker over the weekend.

But Liverpool were knocked back and told not to make another offer.

Despite Gladbach's determination to keep their prized asset, they could struggle to retain Dahoud's services.

The midfielder will be entering the final year of his current contract in 12 months.
