Liverpool have made a late bid to trump Napoli for Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho.
Sportmediaset says Napoli had hoped to wrap up a deal for Jorginho yesterday for around €7.5 million. However, talks stalled as Liverpool made contact with Verona in the afternoon.
Liverpool scouts were in Verona on the weekend to see Napoli's comfortable win and left impressed by Jorginho's performance.
This has led to Liverpool making an approach to Hellas Verona yesterday about discussing terms for the Italy U21 international.
