Liverpool have approached Arsenal to open talks for Theo Walcott.
The Sun says the unsettled winger will stay after a heart-to-heart with Arsene Wenger. But he could go in January if contract talks are not resolved in the next four months.
Wenger said the player's interests were best served by staying put rather than seeking a move to the uncertainty of Manchester City's big superstar squad.
Liverpool have made a formal enquiry while City are yet to show their hand officially over Walcott.
