Liverpool make contact with former Chelsea, Real Madrid boss Ancelotti

Liverpool have reportedly sounded out Carlo Ancelotti regarding the manager's role at Anfield.


According to Calciomercatoweb, the Reds have made contact with the Italian who is currently taking a break from management after leaving Real Madrid last summer.

Brendan Rodgers is under pressure at Liverpool after a mediocre beginning to the new season and is being heavily linked with a possible departure of results on Merseyside do not improve soon.

Reports in Italy indicate that Liverpool have Ancelotti in mind in case they decide to look at an alternative to Northern Irishman Rodgers who has spent a fortune over the past two summers and is still yet to deliver.

Ancelotti won the 2009/10 Premier League title with Chelsea and more recently the 2013/14 Champions League with Real Madrid.
