Liverpool made a late bid for Barcelona bound Lucas Digne, it has been revealed.
The Mirror says Liverpool made a fresh enquiry for France defender Digne before he agreed to join Barcelona in a £16.7million switch.
Liverpool were interested in Digne last summer before he moved from Paris St Germain to Roma on loan for the season.
They made a second approach, together with Roma who wanted to make Digne's loan move permanent, but lost out to Barcelona.
Sources close to Digne claim Liverpool were too slow to move for the left-back and they were also chasing Leicester's Ben Chilwell.
