Liverpool loss a 'missed opportunity' for Swansea - Monk

Swansea City manager Garry Monk feels his side should have at least taken a draw from their clash with Liverpool on Monday night.

The Swans were the better of the two sides during the first 45 minutes at the Liberty Stadium before conceding to Jordan Henderson in the second half which deflated Monk who felt their early form could have set up something more than a 1-0 defeat.

"During the first half we were superb and dominated the game," Monk told Sky Sports.

"We played some fantastic stuff and I feel it's an opportunity missed.

"We had some good chances in the first half and should have scored one or two.

"Unfortunately we didn't capitalise on that, and it cost us.

"When you don't take your chances, a side like Liverpool will come back into the game - but I thought we played some of our best football there."
