Liverpool are eyeing Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.
The Daily Express says Sunderland have left the door open for Liverpool to make a move for former Manchester City winger Johnson after rejecting a proposal from Everton to take the player on loan.
Reports suggest that Gus Poyet is reluctant to lend Johnson to a Premier League rival and would much prefer a permanent move.
And that could pave the way for Liverpool to step up their interest in the 26-year-old.
