Liverpool lining up offer for Hamburg winger Elia
Liverpool are eyeing a January deal for Hamburg winger Eljero Elia.
The 23-year-old winger has been linked with an Anfield switch on several occasions in the past, with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez a known admirer of the speedster.
Former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is now reportedly keen to bring the player to Merseyside, with talkSport claiming Liverpool are keeping tabs on the player as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
After failing to land another striker on transfer deadline day, Hodgson has earmarked the player as a potential replacement for Ryan Babel, should his compatriot leave for pastures new in the winter window. A fee in the region of €10 million could be needed to complete a deal.

With the current owners this will not happen and with new owners that are willing to throw good money around then better players than him will be looked at, it wont happen.
the comment that says : quality players in iran with very chep prices
and how many of these quality players have been tried at the top domestic level and succeded? or even how many are at top clubs having impressed the scouts? i agree the asian market is worth looking at, but it is still underdeveloped football compared to prem standard, so though the players may kick ass in their league there is no reason to beleive they could handle the premier league. very few players are signed from such lower standard leagues and truly impress in the prem. there will be a few hidden gems, but when you think of the time it taks to sort through the average and find the true potential, its just easier and quicker to go to a higher standard of league where the scouting that league does has filtered out loads of the crap.
elia would b awesome. id be happy to pa £15 mill for him tbh, he is class. also get arda turan, both wingers are versatlie and a hell of a lot better than what we got.
Are u kidding!?
10 Million ?!?!
This is no offer, this would be a joke!
No way, Elia will stay in Hamburg! He got a contract untill 2015 and Hamburg won´t let him go under 20 Million Euros!
Nice try....
