Liverpool legend Whelan blasts: Mourinho a disgrace and so is his Chelsea!

Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan has attacked Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. The Irishman was disgusted by Chelsea's smash-and-grab tactics at Anfield last Sunday - when Mourinho's men ended Liverpool's 11-game winning streak and blew the title race wide open.

He moaned to the Daily Star Sunday: "He talks about other managers using pre-historic tactics.

"He's had a go at Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis this season.

"But his tactics last week were pre-historic. At times it was like a European game from the 1980s when a foreign side came to Anfield and time-wasted from the off. And at other times it was like one of those old Fourth Division games, where a centre-forward stays up front on his own and gets long balls pumped forward at him.

"I can't believe people have called it a tactical masterclass from Mourinho when two mistakes won them the game.

"It wasn't good tactics that decided the game. It was luck. After that performance, Mourinho should never criticise another manager again.

"He was a disgrace and so was his team."
