Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has taken aim at Chelsea. Recently Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said: "Lots of people on TV, but nobody a Chelsea man: Carragher, Liverpool; Thompson, Liverpool; Redknapp, Liverpool. Lawrenson, Liverpool; Hansen, Liverpool. We don't have one.
"When I retire, 75 years old, I go as a pundit to defend Chelsea on television."
But Thompson believes the lack of former Chelsea players in similar positions is down to a lack of success down the years.
"Chelsea haven't got what you'd describe as a 'winning past,' he said. "They've only had success since Jose has been there.
"Maybe now with the Russian money you'll see the next generation coming through in the years to come and the likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole might become pundits."
