Liverpool legend Graeme Souness is upset for Ronald Koeman over his problems at Everton.

Koeman is clinging onto his job after their thrashing by Arsenal.

Souness said he had some sympathy for Koeman, telling Sky Sports: "I saw a man there who was hurting badly. I've been in that situation when it's not going well and you're looking for answers.

"His problem is he spent a lot of money in the summer and the expectation level went through the roof. It wasn't just about doing better than last season, it was about getting into the top four and that's not going to happen.

"They are passionate supporters, the Evertonians. They won't like it and won't accept it for very long."
