Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Jose Mourinho's Manchester United still lacks a playing identity.

Mourinho is under pressure to keep his job following a disappointing start to the campaign.

“The obvious difference with other teams is they pick the same teams most weeks," Souness told Virgin Media Sport.

“They don't have an identity. The team is chopping and changing.

“You asked me before what is going to happen tonight and I said I don't know.

“And that's what Man Utd are about right now.

“You don't know what you are getting week in week out.

“You don't know what you are getting half by half from them. It's just a mishmash. You don't know what they are about.

“United teams historically had a real identity about them.

“You could say 'that's what they are good at'.

“What can you say United are good at right now?"
