Liverpool legend Ian Rush has likened Manchester United star Wayne Rooney to Kenny Dalglish.
Rushie told the Daily Star Sunday: "I would like to have played alongside Rooney. He's not the quickest, like a Fernando Torres or a Cristiano Ronaldo, but he creates a lot of goals.
"Rooney has got similar qualities of knowing when to hold up the ball and when to put it through at the right time.
"His style of play would have suited mine.
"Yes, I'm a big admirer of Rooney. He might not get as many goals as he could but it's that hold-up play which is the key.
"He always brings others into the game, which means he can bring the best out of his team-mates.
"Ronaldo can't play as well up front with his back to goal whereas Rooney does the job very well.
"Wayne is the perfect foil for Ronaldo.
"He can take a lot of the pressure on himself when played as a lone striker.
"That allows Ronaldo more space to come in from a wide position to do what he wants."
