Liverpool legend Ian Rush is delighted for Andy Carroll over his winner at Blackburn Rovers.

Rush watched the game from Ghana, where he is leading a Liverpool-Standard Chartered clinic.

"It's great to see Andy Carroll back on the scoresheet because that will give him a tremendous amount of confidence," the Welshman told liverpoolfc.tv. "He had a good game on Tuesday and he won a lot in the air.

"When we went down to 10 men, he did a lot by himself up front. He put a lot of hard work in and he got his just rewards in the end. It was quite a powerful header."
