Liverpool legend Steve Nicol can't see his former side signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

Nicol was responding to the recent reports which had claimed that the Reds are preparing a £61.3million for the 28-year-old.

"If Aubameyang goes to Liverpool, I would be absolutely delighted," he said on ESPN FC.

"But it's not happening.

"Why would Aubameyang pick Liverpool over any other team?

"I'd love to see it happen but I don't believe it's going to happen."
