Liverpool icon Steve Nicol is confident that midfielder Emre Can will be staying put at Anfield.

The future of Can at Liverpool is currently in doubt due to the fact that he is in his final year of his contract at Anfield.

And although there has been a lot of talk linking the German international to Juventus, Nicol believes that he will be staying put.

Nicol said on ESPN FC: "I don't think he's trying to force anything to be honest. I'm pretty sure he's going to stay at Liverpool.

"I think the influence of Jurgen Klopp definitely is the reason that I think he will stay. I think this will get done and certainly from a fans point of view, I hope Can stays."
