Liverpool legend Gary McAllister is favoutite for the coaching job at New York Red Bulls.

The New York Post says new sporting director Andy Roxburgh, the former Scotland coach, and GM Erik Soler are still looking for a coach to replace Hans Backe.

McAllister is the runaway favorite, having played for Roxburgh with Scotland, also for Red Bull Head of Global Soccer Gerard Houllier at Liverpool and was his hand-picked successor at Aston Villa.
