Alan Kennedy says Kenny Dalglish is the right man in charge of Liverpool at this time.
Kennedy accepts that wins over Chelsea and Manchester United have only papered over the cracks opened by years of under investment.
Kennedy told the Sunday Mirror: "The club doesn't just need a top manager, they need a top manager who is capable of healing the wounds and divisions caused by the ownership of Tom Hicks and George Gillett. For me, Kenny is the only manager capable of doing that because the fans trust him. Liverpool need to rebuild - that is going to take time and money. Anyone who thinks differently is kidding themselves.
"It's clear he needs a left-back, centre-half and maybe a couple of wide players who can give Carroll and Suarez the right kind of service."
