Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy is backing their deal for Southampton fullback Nathaniel Clyne.
Clyne's move to Anfield is expected to be confirmed this week.
Kennedy told talkSPORT: “We've had too many problems on both the right and left side of the defence and Nathaniel Clyne impressed last season - and scored against Liverpool as well.
“He's the perfect choice. He's fast, tenacious, he likes to tackle, he can get forward.
“When you look back on bargains, we've had some great buys. Suarez being the top one at £23million, two-and-a-half to three years ago.
“I think for a full-back, you can go anywhere up to £15m to £20m. He's certainly worth it [the £12.5m] from my point of view.
“I think he's just what Liverpool need and will probably go straight into the first team with Glen Johnson moving away from the club."
