Liverpool icon Ray Houghton says David Luiz should have been sent off in Chelsea's victory over Manchester United.
It was an amazing game for Luiz as he scored his first goal for the club, but also escaped a red card at a crucial stage in the 2-1 win.
The Brazilian defender was fortunate not to collect a second yellow card on 77 minutes when he tripped Wayne Rooney. Two minutes later Chelsea were awarded a penalty, which Frank Lampard duly converted for the winner.
Houghton, on air for talkSPORT, says the trip by Luiz should have been enough for the defender to be given a second booking and sent off.
"It was a cynical foul by Luiz," he said.
The decision changed the momentum of the game - and possibly the championship.
United were reduced to 10 men in stoppage-time when Nemanja Vidic was shown a second yellow card for pulling back Ramires.
Vidic will now be suspended for Sunday's trip to arch-rivals Liverpool when United can ill-afford to lose in their quest for a record-breaking 19th top-flight title.
