LA Galaxy star Steven Gerrard admits not many players ever get excited about facing Barcelona ace Luis Suarez.
As Gerrard and his new Galaxy teammates prepare to take on the Champions League winners in the 2015 International Champions Cup at the Rose Bowl in California on Tuesday night, the former Liverpool captain is bracing himself for a tough contest with the Uruguayan striker who he played alongside at Anfield.
Gerrard also admitted he was eager to test himself against Barca great Javier Mascherano who is also a former Reds teammate from his time on Merseyside from 2007 to 2010.
"I don't think anyone ever looks forward to playing against Luis Suarez," Gerrard said. "He's a fantastic talent and a very dangerous player.
"And the same for Mascherano. He's a little warrior as well, a top player who's done unbelievably well at Barcelona.
"I'm looking forward to saying hello before and after the game, and also looking forward to testing myself in the game."
