Departing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is joining the BT Sport team.

The former England captain's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of June and he has decided to turn his hand to television ahead of his move to MLS side LA Galaxy.

BT Sport won the right to host the Champions League for the next three seasons after shelling out £897million in 2013.

Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand and current BT presenter Jake Humphrey will host the new Champions League show.

Paul Scholes, Michael Owen, Steve McManaman and Owen Hargreaves, Harry Redknapp, Glenn Hoddle and Howard Webb are also part of their punditry team.
