Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has been impressed by recent signing Danny Sturridge.

Sturridge and Luis Suarez are developing an exciting attacking partnership.

Fowler told talkSPORT: "If you think about before Daniel Sturridge came to Liverpool, Suarez, as much as he is a fantastic player and he will score you goals, he's not really classed as a forward you would want to play at the point of a three up front.

"He likes to drop deep and get involved in the game and really, with the formation that Liverpool want to play it's not ideal.

"Sturridge has come in and he seems to stay [up top] and Suarez goes around looking for the ball, creating chances and Sturridge is, more often than not, the focal point of Liverpool's attack."
