Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is a candidate for the Macclesfield Town job.

The 38-year-old Liverpudlian, who has long been keen on a first job in management now that his playing career appears to have come to an end, has been interviewed by the Silkmen, reports BBC Sport.

But there are five other candidates on the Macclesfield shortlist.

Chief executive Jon Harris is not expecting a decision before Tuesday.
