Liverpool legend David Fairclough says the players are letting down manager Kenny Dalglish.
Fairclough believes Dalglish is covering for his players' failings.
"I don't go along with the tiredness excuse," said Fairclough, who made 154 appearances for the club between 1974 and 1983. "I think the players have to stand up and hold their hands up and say they haven't performed
"I think Kenny's covering a little bit for the players. Kenny is an incredibly passionate competitor and he won't be taking this lightly."
