Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says manager Rafa Benitez has bought well in Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri.
In his column for liverpoolfc.tv, Dalglish wrote: "He looked very capable in pre-season and he showed on Saturday that if Pepe Reina was to get injured then we wouldn't have a problem. That is one area where we have definitely improved since last year - our second choice goalkeeper now is better than our second choice goalkeeper of twelve months ago.
"If Pepe wasn't our goalkeeper then Diego would be pushing really hard for a first team place at Anfield, but Pepe is as good as anything in the Premier League - and I'd probably agree with Rafa Benitez that he's one of the best around anywhere. He rarely costs us a goal and he makes the saves you'd want him to make, so you can't ask for any more than that."
