Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish rues the timing of the international break as they attempt to chase down Premiership leaders Manchester United.
"In many ways, the international break has come at the wrong time for us as we're building up a head of steam," the Anfield legend told LFC Magazine.
"It will definitely be the wrong time for us if someone comes back injured.
"But it won't help United's cause either. Fergie would want nothing more than to have his players there to work on where he thinks they're going wrong.
"He's going to have one day to prepare for his next league game and that's not a lot of time when you're a wee bit all over the place.
"Conversely, if you're enjoying your football before an international break then you're going to looking forward to getting back to Anfield and getting back to work.
"If everyone's fit when they report back, then I've got no doubt that we can pick up where we left off."
