Dalglish wrote in the Sunday Mirror: "It's funny the amount of people who are jumping on the bandwagon and claiming credit for his development now after they've worked with him for a couple of months.
"The people who deserve the credit are the people who worked with him at QPR, Rafa Benitez, who brought him to Liverpool, and the people in the academy at Liverpool who have furthered his football education.
"The NextGen series came along at the right time for Sterling. It was a great opportunity for him to play against some of the best young players in Europe.
"You can see the benefits of the experience he gained in the fact that he is in the reckoning for the first team at Anfield now.
"You will see the same kind of thing happening at other clubs involved in NextGen, too."
