Liverpool legend Dalglish convinced defending title too much for Man Utd's Moyes

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says defending the Premier League title will be too much for Manchester United boss David Moyes.

Dalglish wrote in the Mirror: "The reason I think Manchester United will surrender the title this season has nothing to do with their failure to make a statement in the transfer window.

"United don't need to do that. They tend to make their statements by winning the Premier League title.

"Their manager left at the end of last season and we are not talking about replacing any ordinary manager. We are talking about replacing Sir Alex Ferguson, a man whose character ran right through that club.

"His absence will be a big change for everybody there, not least the players. And at the same time, United have also lost their chief executive, David Gill.

"Don't underestimate the effect of that. Gill was one of the most experienced and able executives in the English game and he and Sir Alex worked well together on transfers. To lose both at the same time is bound to make the transition at the club even more difficult.

"I'm sure United won't fall off the edge of a cliff. Moyes is too good a manager for that to happen.

"But the changes will make United vulnerable and I think both Chelsea and Manchester City will finish above them, probably in that order."
