Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels Raheem Sterling should start for England.
Sterling goes into the World Cup on the back of a superb domestic season.
Carragher told the Daily Mail: "He is ready to start for England though Hodgson may feel he can do most damage from the bench when opposition legs are tired. The Liverpool winger can change games playing out wide or through the middle. Since I played with him he has improved his decision-making and understanding of the game. His raw pace in hot conditions will be a huge asset."
