Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes manager Brendan Rodgers has built himself a more flexible squad with the Luis Suarez money.
Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "The summer additions of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic have given the Liverpool squad more depth, additional options and different plans that they can turn to against opponents deploying contrasting styles.
"Liverpool have often struggled when teams parked the bus at Anfield and played for a 0-0 draw and, if it wasn't for consistent moments of brilliance from Suarez, they would not have picked up the wins they needed in those games.
"However, Rodgers has more cards to play. Markovic comes with a big reputation and should offer potency down the flanks, Can and Lallana are good additions to bolster the midfield and Lambert offers the option to go a more direct route against defensive-minded opponents determined to stop Liverpool playing."
