Liverpool legend Aldridge: Gerrard position change has Rodgers plans year ahead of schedule

Liverpool legend John Aldridge feels Brendan Rodgers' tactical rejigging has brought forward his plans by 12 months.

Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "He has devised a new deeper role for skipper Steven Gerrard that is working a treat.

"It is giving Liverpool a fresh attacking dimension from the base of their midfield and all of a sudden Rodgers has moved a project that looked like taking at least three years forward by 12 months."
