Liverpool legend Aldridge: Entire season rests on Sturridge shoulders

Liverpool legend John Aldridge says their entire season rests on the shoulders of fit-again Daniel Sturridge.

Aldo wrote in the Sunday World: "Liverpool's season all now hinges on Daniel Sturridge coming back from injury and hitting the ground running against Crystal Palace in a fortnight's time.

"The weekend's defeat to Chelsea, with defensive frailties on show again, and a lack of attacking firepower also evident, is utterly the end of any faint hope of mounting a Premier League challenge. Finishing in the top four, and with it getting Champions League football next season, is now all the Kop can hope for.

"There are still the Capital One and FA Cups to play for, but none of that will end well unless Sturridge comes back to add some bite and strength to the attack. When Liverpool next play a Premier League match, on November 22, Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert still won't have scored a Premier League goal between them.
