Liverpool legend John Aldridge has hailed the performance of Jon Flanagan after victory over Tottenham.
Flanagan won praise from Brazilian legend Marcos Cafu on the weekend.
"No wonder Cafu loves him!" Aldo enthused in his Liverpool Echo column.
"The early own goal from Younes Kaboul set the tone for Liverpool's win over Spurs, but Jon Flanagan epitomised just how up for it the Reds were.
"His two early challenges on Aaron Lennon - firm, but fair - let the Tottenham man know what kind of afternoon he was in for.
"Flanagan knows what it means to play for Liverpool. He's a fan just like us, and what a time he is having.
"He wasted one pass all afternoon, and had the confidence to produce a Cruyff-turn in his own half for the third goal."
