Liverpool are preparing an ambitious bid for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez. The Daily Star says the Reds are preparing a last ditch £27m bid to sign Barcelona and Chile forward Alexis.

However, Liverpool will surge back into contention after Brendan Rodgers gave the green light for the Reds to dwarf their previous £18m bid to lure Sanchez to Anfield.
