Liverpool Ladies land American keeper Libby Stout

Liverpool Ladies have announced the signing of American goalkeeper Libby Stout.

The Women's Super League Champions have landed the signature of the 23 year-old from BV Cloppenburg in Germany.

Speaking of her move to Liverpool, Libby said: "I have had the desire to be a professional footballer since the age of nine and the one place I have always wanted to play is England.

"I am very excited about this move and I can't wait to move to Liverpool. I've heard great things about the city and I'm looking forward to playing for one of the greatest clubs in world football.

"This is a great step for me in my career and Liverpool is one of the best places in the world.

"To represent Liverpool Ladies is a dream come true, and I believe my ability will shine in the WSL and Champions League. I hope that my experience, leadership and determination to succeed will only benefit the team as we strive to build on last season's success."

Libby increases the American contingent at Liverpool, including Amanda da Costa, who returns with her regular blog for tribalfootball.com this coming season.
