Liverpool loanee Lawrence Vigouroux produced a vital penalty save to help guide Swindon Town to a 4-1 victory over Bradford in their League One opener on Saturday.
Bradford took a one-nil lead in the 12th minute and had an opportunity to double their lead just five minutes later after being awarded a spot kick. However, Vigouroux dived to his right to spectacularly deny Billy Clarke's penalty in what proved to be a turning point in the match.
Buoyed by Vigouroux's heroics, the home side scoring four unanswered goals to secure a comfortable first round win with thanks to assists from his fellow Reds young guns Kevin Stewart and Jordan Williams while Southampton defender Jordan Turnbull also provided a goal for Jonathan Obika, following Nathan Byrne's hat-trick
