Liverpool have joined Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus in pursuit of Villarreal starlet Mateo Musacchio.
The 20-year old Argentine centre-half has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Spain's La Liga this season and is attracting plenty of attention from around Europe.
He has only cracked it for a regular first team position with Villarreal this season after moving from River Plate in August 2009 but is coming along in leaps and bounds and the Reds are believed to be showing considerable interest.
