Liverpool aim to wrap up a deal for QPR striker Loic Remy in the coming days.
The Mail on Sunday says the Reds had no problem matching the £8.5million release clause in Remy's contract.
But a move was stalling on the size of the wages Remy - who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United - wanted.
Remy was pushing for around £100,00 a week but it appears a deal of around £85,000 a week has been thrashed out.
