Liverpool will be monitoring Stefan de Vrij's crunch meeting with Lazio officials tomorrow.
De Vrij is due to meet with Lazio directors on Friday to discuss his contract situation, says Corriere dello Sport.
The Holland defender is an alternative target to Southampton stopper Virgil van Dijk for Liverpool.
He has just over six months remaining on his current contract with the Serie A club, and has so far been unable to agree a new deal.
If an agreement cannot be found, Liverpool will be free to secure Van Dijk to a pre-contract from January 1.
De Vrij has made 71 appearances for Lazio since moving to Italy in 2014. Along with Liverpool, he is also interesting Serie A champs Juventus.
