Melbourne Victory star Marco Rojas was crowned the Johnny Warren Medallist as the A-League's best player for season 2012/13 on Monday night.
The 21-year old New Zealand winger enjoyed a stellar season for the Victory, scoring 15 goals in 27 appearances, and received 908 votes from his playing peers to become the second Victory player to scoop the award after Carlos Hernandez's triumph in the 2009/10 campaign.
Rojas beat Sydney FC star Alessandro Del Piero (449 votes), Central Coast Mariners striker Daniel McBreen (280 votes), Mariners midfielder Michael McGlinchey (239 votes) and Adelaide United playmaker Dario Vidosic (222 votes).
To add to the Johnny Warren Medal, Rojas was also crowned the NAB Young Footballer of the Year to cap a brilliant individual season which has also seen him scouted by Liverpool and Juventus.
Rojas joins Bobby Despotovski (Perth Glory), Nick Carle and Joel Griffiths (both Newcastle Jets), Shane Smeltz (Wellington Phoenix), Hernandez, Marcos Flores (Adelaide United) and Thomas Broich (Brisbane Roar) on the Johnny Warren Medal honours list.
