Liverpool have jumped to the head of the queue for Burnley defender Michael Keane.
The Daily Express says Liverpool have moved ahead of neighbours Everton and arch rivals Manchester United in the pursuit of Keane.
Despite being latecomers to the party having only lodged their interest in the Burnley centre-back a few days ago, the Reds are now believed to be in pole position with manager Jurgen Klopp prepared to make the 24-year-old one of the mainstays of his defence next season.
A fee of up to £30million is being mooted for the Stockport-born star and it he didn't return to Old Trafford, the Red Devils will be entitled to 25% of the price tag following a clause inserted into his Clarets contract on moving to Turf Moor in 2015 following a loan spell.
